ROLLING STONES -Time waits for no one…

Yes, star crossed in pleasure, the stream flows on by

Time waits for no one
by The Rolling Stones

Yes, star crossed in pleasure, the stream flows on by
Yes, as we’re sated in leisure, we watch it fly

And time waits for no one, and it won’t wait for me
And time waits for no one, and it won’t wait for me

Time can tear down a building or destroy a woman’s face
Hours are like diamonds, don’t let them waste

Time waits for no one, no favours has he
Time waits for no one, and he won’t wait for me

Men, they build towers to their passing yes, to their fame everlasting
Here he comes chopping and reaping, hear him laugh at their cheating

And time waits for no man, and it won’t wait for me
Yes, time waits for no one, and it won’t wait for me

Drink in your summer, gather your corn
The dreams of the night time will have vanished by dawn

And time waits for no one, and it won’t wait for me
And time waits for no one, and it won’t wait for me

No no no, not for me….

Regina Spektor – My Dear Acquaintance (A Happy New Year)

My dear acquaintance, it’s so good to know you
For strength of your hand
That is loving and giving
And a happy new year
With love overflowing
With joy in our hearts
For the blessed new year

Raise your glass and we’ll have a cheer
For us all who are gathered here
And a happy new year to all that is living
To all that is gentle, kind, and forgiving
Raise your glass and we’ll have a cheer
My dear acquaintance, a happy new year

All of those who are hither and yonder
With love in our hearts
We grow fonder and fonder
Hail to those who we hold so dear
And hail to those who are gathered here

And a happy new year to all that is living
To all that is gentle, young, and forgiving
Raise your glass and we’ll have a cheer
My dear acquaintance, a happy new year
Happy new year
– Regina Spektor

another heart’s folly…

Mallard on ice

Mallard on ice

we were like two leafs hanging
by some invisible thread of attraction
where we met resembled a dungeon
for poets, lunatics, and antagonists
on that ill-fated day that bled with such promise
emotions ran high after a full blown tragedy
runaway trains usually jump the tracks
you sped into darkness at blinding velocity
while I ran off some cliff into oblivion
now a bare branch bends in the cyclone
claiming witness to another heart’s folly…
