won’t matter to you anymore…

Total Eclipse

oh you want to know that immortal question
how to heal a broken heart?
first you find someone that has a heart
check their soul dipstick while you’re at it
accept death before repeating your last mistake
endure the fact that humans are ruthless
pretend you don’t have a heart
create your own world in your imagination
stay there and never return to the real world
keep using this mantra from Paul Simon
‘I am a rock, I am an island
and a rock feels no pain, and an island never cries’
before you know it, maybe in 18 years
it really won’t matter to you anymore…

deep as a black hole…

you’re looking for the why
but there is no why
there are just people who feel everything
people who feel nothing at all
like the walking dead they pose as people
but have no conscience, no remorse, no ethics
fact is that area of their brain is inactive
they have no idea what the hell you are talking about
as sensitive as a set of car keys
stones likely have more feelings
they are cold hearted vampires and need you
emotional vampires have no emotions
so they suck your heart dry
to fill a void that’s deep as a black hole
and you ask why?

all aglow…

Hummingbird

Hummingbird

on some inner plane while dreaming
there we stand without the scheming
you’re wondering about someone I kissed?
on the cheek, that part you missed
are you jealous in my dreams?
nothing’s ever what it seems
in that moment, you must know
I am happy – all aglow…

Kindred spirit…

Flying into a sunset

Flying into a sunset

so you’re on the other side now
ole friend you should have told me
but that just wasn’t your way
leave it to fate to play this hand
still you payed me the best compliment
ever received on my longest written project
you said, ‘how I wished I had read that 30 years ago,
how different my life might have been.’
somehow, I cannot imagine how that could be so
such beautiful things were written in your memorial
the legacy of wildlife habitat preservation
not many will ever list that on their life’s resume’
our brothers and sisters in nature will miss you
gentle footsteps no longer upon this earth
we seemed to share a similar vibratory note
somehow, I know our paths shall cross again…
