I think I’m done…

“And as I sat there brooding on the old, unknown world, I thought of Gatsby’s wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy’s dock. He had come a long way to this blue lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it. He did not know that it was already behind him, somewhere back in that vast obscurity beyond the city, where the dark fields of the republic rolled on under the night.

Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter—to-morrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . . And one fine morning——

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

Mister Pinkerton Being There…

Mister Pinkerton lives here no more
he left no forwarding address
his phone was disconnected
e-mail accounts deleted
there is a beacon blinking
somewhere on the Internet
of life according to Pinkerton
he would always have wondered
why people were not like him
oh true some were perhaps close
once he thought he met his twin
seems they had no recollection
either he was from another universe
or got an extra dose of alien DNA
knowing things, knowing things
always knowing things others failed to grasp
what’s all this then?
Mister Pinkerton walks out on the lake
and disappears…

now I climb Jacob’s ladder…

Ring of fire

Ring of fire

now I climb Jacob’s ladder
not far back I met the Hatter
somewhere in that book of Ruth
lies the complete unvarnished truth

still for years, I studied parchment
ancient mysteries for the seeker
decades past, a road less traveled
till my grasp became quite weaker

now and zen, they burst your bubble
shooting stars seen by the Hubble
sacred fire expands the flow
now Third eye will let it go

Earlyne was my prana master
golden books read in my sleep
though I walked the ancient temples
still my soul would sigh and weep

now I climb Jacob’s ladder
not far back I met the Hatter
somewhere in that book of Ruth
lies the complete unvarnished truth

wore it like a diamond necklace…

Ice storm

Ice storm

you kept your distance and wore it
like a diamond necklace sparkling bright
though these eyes may haunt you forever
your novel lines will blaze your desire
down deep in your core the ache quite real
ironic twist of fate that lowers me down
do you really think that I feel any different?
that it’s easy for me to shirk this off as nothing?
your silence has strangled this free expression
resurrecting the same situation from another lifetime
now, I am the wind on a desolate mountain
you are my ice capped peaks where air is nonexistent
we compliment each other in some God forsaken realm
in your mind, you ask yourself why?
all I ever wanted was to be close to you
somewhere a alabaster angel stands silent by a grave
it is ours? Only your pen will ever know that answer…
