Just for that moment, I know you’re all right…

Diamonds of the sea

Diamonds of the sea

the diamonds appear and dance for us
there must be billions and billions of them
shining and twinkling they shimmer
I think of how someone held out a cup
perhaps they thought I just had a pitcher
those nights when you wavered so lonely
at the edge of the sea filled with doubt
my waves reached out to you roaring
the feel of air passed through my fingers
now I sit and wonder at the oddest moments
the arms of your soul wrapped around me
closing my eyes – I see your light
just for that moment, I know you’re all right…

On into eternity…

Red fox on snow in Feb.

Red fox on snow in Feb.

you think that you understand
a once in a lifetime love
between twin flames
you think that these are replaceable
like parts in a car, they are not
you think that I’m open book
easily read by what I write
but we’re just actors on this stage
right now I’m this red fox
she is the snow beneath me on this field
perhaps she resents my warm coat
but make no mistake, she loves me
so much the words cannot escape her lips
every script she ever held on to
is blown away by one simple fact
she knows no matter where she goes
no matter who she loves in this life
no matter what she does or doesn’t do
there is one man on this planet
who will love her unconditionally
until his dying day and on into eternity…

‘Love in the Time of Cholera’

Blazing sunsets on the bay

Blazing sunsets on the bay

‘Love in the Time of Cholera’
this the way it is between us
beyond the bounds of all possibility
stranger than all your fiction
immortals like Titans from Olympus
gravitational pull of a black hole
multidimensional birds of a feather
yin and yang of the Cosmos
a soul that lives in two hearts…

Anna Karenina

Ann Caroline

I’ll read Anna Karenina over and over
but never to the end
always stop before the final scene
there’s something about that time period
the language and soul of the people
that resonates like some unknown place holder
Tolstoy’s story flows like a lazy river
the insight into what life was like back then
for the rich aristocrats and poor peasants
such huge contrasts in wealth and position
really – how most of Europe was setup
if you have never read it, you should
I’ll leave you with three lines that I really like…

Anna Karenina (I) (2012) the movie
Count Vronsky: I love you!
Anna Karenina: Why?
Count Vronsky: You can’t ask Why about love!

Every orchid I’ve ever met…

White orchids

White orchids

Every orchid I’ve ever met
always had a peaceful set
this one reminds me of you
dash of yellow, purple too
how you last for a month in bloom
precious wonder in my room
some will say you’re hard to grow
in my hands, you’d never know
snow white is your name I’m sure
never leave my heart no more…

What do I have to do to get your attention?

B3173A

What do I have to do to get your attention?
sit in the middle of the street naked
well this is as close to that as I get
take it or leave it
see I’m no siren – they have tails
but I could be a Selkie so watch out!
what do you mean you shed 1000’s of tears?
you only needed seven into the sea
7-7-7 you got that?
